Big Hearts, Bold Hope: When Love Becomes a Legacy

Tucked away in Warren Park, a modest suburb where challenges are many and resources are few, three remarkable sisters rise each day with one goal: to give children a fighting chance at a better life. In the modest 3-bedroom home they call Nyararai Children’s Trust (NCT), they’re raising 16 children aged 2 to 19, adding to the more than 150 lives NCT has nurtured since it was founded in 2000 by their late mother, Gogo Clara Gunduza. What began as one woman’s vision has become a haven, a place where love is fierce, meals are shared, and no child is ever left behind.

But love alone doesn’t keep the lights on or food on the table. When the sisters reached out for support, ZimWorX saw more than just a need, we saw a legacy worth preserving. Through our #The51Initiative, we responded not with a one-time handout, but with a plan rooted in sustainability. We helped construct a fowl run to launch a small-scale egg project. It’s not yet a booming business, but on a good day, a few eggs make their way from coop to kitchen, nourishing growing minds and bodies. The surplus? It heads to the community, offering a modest stream of income and a strong sense of purpose.

And it all starts with a heart big enough to say: we will not give up on these children.
