Small Grants, Big Impact: Goodworx in Action

As part of ZimWorX’s commitment to transforming lives and making a global impact for the Kingdom, the Workplace Wellness & Philanthropy Department launched the Goodworx Grant Competition in April 2025. The goal of the initiative is to empower ZimWorX team members to design and lead short-term, low-cost, high-impact projects that uplift vulnerable communities; and we’re thrilled to share that the first wave of projects is now underway.

This September, two projects kick off in Zimbabwe. 1. GreenTheGhetto Movement will plant 100 fruit trees in five schools in Hatcliff, benefiting 450 students through nutrition, environmental education, and the creation of student-led Green Clubs while 2. Early Foundations: Textbooks for Success will provide much-needed textbooks to 48 learners in Sunningdale, ensuring that both current and future students have access to essential learning resources.

But that’s just the beginning.

Three more impactful projects are scheduled to launch in the coming months, two in Lusaka, Zambia and one more in Harare, Zimbabwe. 1. Breakthrough Bootcamp (CampThrive) will work with 20 young boys in Zambia to address drug and substance abuse through outdoor leadership camps, mentorship, and structured programs that build self-worth, resilience, and positive identity.

2. Healthy Mothers, Healthy Future, another Lusaka project, aims to support 20 vulnerable pregnant women by providing antenatal education, mental health awareness, and compassionate care. This 3-month program includes sessions on nutrition, maternal self-care, postpartum mental health, and the distribution of maternity kits, culminating in a celebration and the formation of a supportive “Mothers’ Circle” peer group.

3. Project Uplinked: Digital Access and Mentorship for Community Empowerment, launching in Harare, will connect 433 high school students to training, mentorship, and online opportunities. This four-month initiative focuses on building digital literacy and empowering youth with skills for the future.

Each of these initiatives reflects what happens when ZimWorX team members put their faith, skills, and compassion into action. We’re proud of what’s unfolding, and even more excited for what’s ahead. Together, we are turning purpose into progress.
