Winter Warmer Campaign Brings Warmth to Rugare

Seventy children at Rugare Orphan Care will face this winter a little warmer, thanks to the generosity of the ZimWorX family, The51, and our Workplace Wellness Department.

At the official handover ceremony, each child received a brand-new sweater, more than just protection from the cold, but a reminder that they are seen, loved, and valued.

Caleb Juru, ZimWorX Site Manager for Zimbabwe, said the campaign reflects the heart of ZimWorX’s mission. “Seeing the children smile and knowing they’ll be warm throughout the winter reminds us why we do what we do. This is what it means to transform lives while making a global impact.”

The celebration also highlighted the impact of ZimWorX’s long-standing partnership with Rugare. During the ceremony, student Nikki Kuhuni recited a heartfelt poem celebrating teachers and the power of education. She described education as “the key to a better life” and thanked the teachers who inspire children to dream, grow, and believe in a brighter future. Her words served as a moving reminder that while sweaters provide warmth for today, investing in education creates opportunities that last a lifetime.

The partnership with Rugare Orphan Care extends far beyond this campaign. For years, ZimWorX and The51 have stood alongside the organisation, supporting projects including classroom construction, learning resources, school uniforms, nutrition programmes, and Christmas gifts that continue to shape brighter futures for vulnerable children.

Speaking on behalf of Rugare Orphan Care, Pastor Henry Zihove thanked the ZimWorX family for its faithful and consistent support. “Your partnership has been nothing short of a lifeline,” he said.

“You have looked beyond the statistics and seen the children. Through classrooms, books, uniforms, nutritious meals, and now these sweaters, you have given them dignity, hope, and the opportunity to thrive. You are not just supporters, you are partners in the journey of these children.”

Every sweater handed out represented far more than warmth. It reflected the compassion of hundreds of people who chose to give, serve, and demonstrate Christ’s love in practical ways.

At The51, we believe business should be a force for good. The Winter Warmer Campaign is another reminder that when generosity meets purpose, lives are transformed, communities are strengthened, and God’s love is made visible.
