Winter Warmer Campaign Brings Warmth to Rugare

Seventy children at Rugare Orphan Care will face this winter a little warmer, thanks to the generosity of the ZimWorX family, The51, and our Workplace Wellness Department. At the official handover ceremony, each child received a brand-new sweater, more than just protection from the cold, but a reminder that they are seen, loved, and valued. Caleb Juru, ZimWorX Site Manager for Zimbabwe, said the campaign reflects the heart of ZimWorX's mission. "Seeing the children smile and knowing they'll be warm throughout the winter reminds us why we do what we do. This is what it means to transform lives while making a global impact."   The celebration also highlighted the impact of ZimWorX's long-standing partnership with Rugare. During the ceremony, student Nikki Kuhuni recited a heartfelt poem celebrating teachers and the power of education. She described education as "the key to a better life" and thanked the teachers who inspire children to dream, grow, and believe in a brighter future. Her words served as a moving reminder that while sweaters provide warmth for today, investing in education creates opportunities that last a lifetime. The partnership with Rugare Orphan Care extends far beyond this campaign. For years, ZimWorX and The51 have stood alongside the organisation, supporting projects including classroom construction, learning resources, school uniforms, nutrition programmes, and Christmas gifts that continue to shape brighter futures for vulnerable children. Speaking on behalf of Rugare Orphan Care, Pastor Henry Zihove thanked the ZimWorX family for its faithful and consistent support. "Your partnership has been nothing short of a lifeline," he said.  "You have looked beyond the statistics and seen the children. Through classrooms, books, uniforms, nutritious meals, and now these sweaters, you have given them dignity, hope, and the opportunity to thrive. You are not just supporters, you are partners in the journey of these children." Every sweater handed out represented far more than warmth. It reflected the compassion of hundreds of people who chose to give, serve, and demonstrate Christ's love in practical ways. At The51, we believe business should be a force for good. The Winter Warmer Campaign is another reminder that when generosity meets purpose, lives are transformed, communities are strengthened, and God's love is made visible.

Fresh Start: breaking the cycle of reoffending

A program launched by ZimWorX in partnership with the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) on 12 June at four prisons in Harare is set to reduce petty crime by released inmates. Launched through its philanthropy arm, the51, and dubbed Fresh Start, the program will provide 60 inmates preparing for release with $10 bus fare and a starter kit containing toiletries and inspirational booklet every month. Speaking shortly after his release from Harare Central Prison, Honest Nyauta, a beneficiary of the program, said Fresh Start is “a great initiative that should support as many people as possible.”  Nyauta couldn't hide his joy upon receiving bus fare and a starter kit containing basic toiletries like soap, toothpaste, and deodorant. “To be honest,” said a beaming Nyauta, “I had no idea how I was going to get home. Without this intervention, I was going to go around begging people for money, I guess.”  Nyauta lives in Beatrice, which is 55 kilometres from Harare.  Lack of transport money can contribute to a cycle of reoffending among some released inmates. “Actually, a few inmates that were released three days ago are back inside,” said Tatenda Ndondo, another beneficiary of the Fresh Start program.  “What happens is that someone is released but they have no money to go home,” Ndondo explained. “They easily slip back into a life of crime by stealing to get bus fare. Some get caught and they are brought back to prison.”   A team from ZimWorX, led by Pastor Blessing Makwara, the head of philanthropy, launched the Fresh Start program through visits to Harare Central Prison and the Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison Complex, which contains a total of three prisons. During the visits, the team provided bus fare and starter kits to inmates being released that day. They also left cash and starter kits with prison authorities for inmates scheduled for release soon. The initiative seeks to provide dischargees with a dignity pack, a biblically inspired inspirational booklet and transport support to accompany them in their new journey of being reintegrated into the community. The idea is to support the most vulnerable of dischargees. It is about transforming lives while making a global impact.

Where Healing Finds a Home: Block 3 Opens at Rainbow Children’s Village

Romana Muusha* is a 40 year old  mother. And for longer than any parent should have to endure, she has been fighting alongside her child through cancer;  the treatments, the steroids, the hormonal storms, the sleepless nights, and the relentless travel between Bulawayo and Harare that slowly ground her down. Though her child's bone marrow is now in remission, the road to get there left its marks. For months, Romana was couch-surfing between friends and family in Harare,  grateful, but never truly resting, never truly home. Carrying one of the heaviest weights a parent can carry, without a room to put it down. Then she heard about Rainbow Children's Village. And something shifted. “Romana Muusha had been shuttling between Bulawayo and Harare for months, fighting for her child's life with no place to truly rest. Then one room changed everything.” This past Thursday, KidzCan officially celebrated the opening of Phase Three of the Rainbow Children's Village,  a new block of living quarters continuing a vision that broke ground in December 2021. What began as a single phase has grown steadily, with  Phase Two breaking ground in July 2023 and  Phase Three in July 2025. Each block a new wing of mercy for families who have nowhere else to turn.   For ZimWorX, the milestone was personal. Through The51, we contributed $25,000 toward the construction of one of the rooms in the newly completed block. That room now bears The51 mural on its wall. It is not a plaque nor a press release, but a place where a mother like Romana  can finally sleep with her child. The51 exists on a conviction,  that business success is not an end in itself. That the measure of a company is not only what it builds commercially, but what it gives back,  deliberately, consistently, and in places where the need is greatest. Rainbow Children's Village is exactly that kind of place. Back in that room, a mother will finally rest. Her child will sleep between treatments without the exhaustion of another journey. The endless back-and-forth, the cost, the risk, the delays, will slow to a stop. Steady walls. A steady breath. And in this village built for families in crisis, the weight, just for a moment, will be a little lighter.  One room. One family. One life at a time.

Stronger Together: How ZimWorX and Smiles for Everyone Foundation Are Expanding Access to Care

Last year, ZimWorX partnered with Smiles for Everyone Foundation to help launch four global Dental Outposts, backed by a $300,000 commitment to expand dental care in underserved communities. This is what that work looks like on the ground.   Rooted in Zimbabwe, built to last   In Zimbabwe, that work is already taking shape. Built in collaboration with Celebration Health, the focus is simple: create a clinic that is locally led, sustainable, and designed to serve for the long term, not just a facility that opens, but one that endures. Dr. Freeblessing leads as Head Doctor, alongside Ms. Nkosie and her team, who are managing day-to-day operations and ensuring the clinic reflects the real needs of the community it serves. While services are still being prepared, the priority is clear: build it right from the start, so it lasts. [caption id="attachment_2140" align="aligncenter" width="1188"] Dr. Freeblessing, Head Doctor[/caption] A first dental visit,  in Rwanda   That same commitment is already making an impact beyond Zimbabwe. Because of ZimWorX's support, two young adults in Rwanda were able to visit a dentist for the very first time. This is what meaningful partnership looks like. Not just showing up in the moment, but building systems that continue to serve, strengthen communities, and extend care over time. That same commitment is already making an impact beyond Zimbabwe. Because of ZimWorX’s support, two young adults in Rwanda were able to visit a dentist for the very first time.  Through a partnership with Smiles for Everyone Foundation and Africa New Life Ministries, students who had been living with untreated dental pain finally received the care they needed. It wasn't just treatment — it was relief. Confidence restored. Dignity returned.

Sweet Impact: How Zee Honey Is Turning Purpose Into Something Real

Zee Honey is changing what “giving back” actually looks like. Built through a partnership between Westprop Holdings and ZimWorX, this isn’t a once-off initiative but an impact designed to last. With 10% of Westprop’s profits and 51% from ZimWorX funding the project, purpose is built directly into the business. The goal is ambitious,  10,000 thriving beehives by 2035, alongside real, measurable community impact. Based at Gwebi Agricultural College in Mashonaland West, Zee Honey is more than honey production. It is a connected ecosystem of beekeeping, fish farming, herbal gardens, and spirulina, all working together to improve productivity, strengthen food security, and create a sustainable model that holds up over time. And it’s already working. Over 150 students have been trained, with jobs created and more than 50 people earning through subcontracted work, giving young people, women, and vulnerable groups practical skills they can turn into income.  Beyond that, the project supports local schools, creates university attachment opportunities, and contributes to broader goals like health, education, and climate action. What makes Zee Honey unique is that it’s built to last, a system where business growth and community impact move together, consistently and sustainably.   The next step is to scale: more hives, more training, more reach. But the bigger goal is to show what’s possible when impact is structured, intentional, and embedded into how a business operates. Because when impact is designed to last, it doesn’t just support communities, it grows them.

Investing with Purpose: Empowering the Next Generation Through Innovation and Impact

Recently, we delivered a hands-on rabbit farming training session to 106 first-year students from Gwebi Agricultural College at Bunny Estates. For us, this was more than just a training, it was about unlocking real opportunity and complimenting the Colleges effort. Students were equipped with practical skills in rabbit production, from breed selection and housing to nutrition, breeding, and disease management, alongside essential business fundamentals like record keeping, cost control, and identifying income streams. Our goal was simple: give young people the tools to turn knowledge into income and independence. Beyond the training, we are inspired by how Bunny Estates is redefining what it means to farm with intention. They are experimenting with rabbit urine as an eco-friendly insect repellent and foliar fertilizer and refining it for broader use, unlocking both economic and environmental value.  The vision goes further into feed independence, value-added products, and training models that can be replicated by pensioners, youth, and women. At ZimWorX, through #The51, we believe sustainability should spread, multiplying impact through small, smart changes. This is what it looks like when innovation meets purpose: real empowerment, real resilience, and real change.

GoodWorX Grants: Small Gifts, Big Change

Powered by the GoodWorX Grant Competition, ZimWorX team members are driving bold, low-cost, high-impact initiatives that respond directly to community needs. These projects span environmental sustainability, health, education, and digital inclusion, demonstrating how small grants can unlock meaningful change. Supported initiatives include Green the Ghetto Movement, a school-based fruit-tree planting project; Flow with Dignity, promoting menstrual health and hygiene; Early Start, Brighter Future, providing learners with textbooks; Breakthrough Bootcamp (CampThrive), addressing drug and substance abuse; Healthy Mothers, Healthy Future, offering antenatal education and mental-health support to 20 vulnerable pregnant women; and Project Uplinked, expanding digital access and mentorship. [gallery columns="2" size="full" ids="1843,1842"]   In late 2025, the Green the Ghetto initiative took decisive steps toward a greener future. The team planted 20 fruit trees at Hatcliff Primary School, followed by another 20 at Tafara Primary School in Harare, Zimbabwe, marking the launch of a 100-Tree Campaign to bring shade, nutrition, and sustainability to urban schools. The effort continued with a third planting at Tafara High School, where 20 additional fruit trees were added, further expanding the project’s impact.  The Healthy Futures Initiative (HFI) Maternal Health Project was delivered in Chainda, Lusaka between October and November 2025 to support expectant and adolescent mothers through holistic antenatal education, mental and emotional health support, spiritual encouragement, and life-skills training. Over six structured sessions, the program reached 26 participants, covering safe pregnancy practices, labour and delivery preparedness, postnatal self-care, and basic entrepreneurship awareness. Despite early logistical challenges, participation and engagement remained strong, with mothers reporting increased confidence, emotional resilience, and readiness for childbirth.   [gallery size="full" columns="2" ids="1840,1839"]     The project highlighted a critical need for continued postnatal mental health support and economic empowerment, as most participants lacked stable income opportunities. Post-delivery follow-up is already underway, including counselling support where needed, and plans are in place to expand entrepreneurship and wellness interventions in future phases. With ongoing community engagement and strategic partnerships, including support from Zimworx, HFI continues to walk alongside vulnerable young mothers—helping ensure healthier outcomes, restored dignity, and sustainable futures for both mothers and their children<br /> In 2025 as well, Breakthrough Bootcamp (CampThrive) successfully delivered a four-week mentorship and discipleship pilot for 13 young men from Ngombe Compound in Zambia, addressing challenges such as emotional instability, lack of positive male role models, and vulnerability to substance abuse and crime. Beyond individual transformation, the pilot revealed a powerful outcome: participants expressed a clear desire to become mentors themselves, validating Camp Thrive’s long-term vision. Delivered on a $1,000 total budget, the program proved both impactful and cost-efficient. With foundational support from ZimWorX through the GoodworX project, Camp Thrive is now transitioning into a self-sustaining, community-led model, focused on empowering the initial cohort to lead others.

More Than Reading: How One Volunteer Brought Joy, Faith, and Belonging to Rugare

Every Wednesday, Chido Mukombachoto arrives at the Rugare Reading Program carrying more than just storybooks or reading material. She brings a heart full of warmth and a passion for helping children feel seen, heard, and loved. As a longtime Zimworx volunteer, Chido is a key part of the center’s reading  program, a weekly literacy initiative for vulnerable children founded by Zimworx. These sessions are not just about learning to read. They are about building confidence, connection, and joy in children who often carry burdens far too heavy for their age. At the beginning of this term, Chido had an idea that went beyond books. So she decided to do something small and extraordinary. She and her mother rolled up their sleeves, dusted off their cake tins, and spent the weekend baking a cake from scratch. It was not just any cake. A triple-layer masterpiece, swirled with fudge, frosted with care, and topped with sprinkle and a message WELCOME TO TERM 3. Inspired by Zimworx’s values the cake was excellently done. She wanted every child to feel special and celebrated. When Zimworx arrived at Rugare's reading program with the cake, the room went silent. Eyes widened and for a moment, the chaos of the day melted into pure wonder. And when the children tasted the cake, they felt it was warm, rich, and filled with love. Their laughter filled the room like music. “Its really delicious,” whispered one little girl. Chido did not do it for praise. She did it because she believes in God’s love and she  folded it into batter, poured it into a pan, and shared one slice at a time. For her every task is an opportunity to serve God and others. Zimworx gave her that opportunity to serve and volunteer in the ministry dearest to her. She could work at the same time and have a chance to transform lives while making a global impact. She feels satisfied and fulfilled. Small acts done in love can open hearts and transform lives. Through the Workplace Wellness department, Zimworx strives to create meaningful opportunities for volunteerism creating Wins for the Team Members and the Community we serve. That cake was not just dessert, it was a memory. A ministry. A reminder that someone cared enough to go the extra mile. And for those children and other volunteers, it was a moment of  a sweet chapter that meant everything. At Zimworx, we believe that our workplace is our mission field.  A place where our excellence, or faith, and our love become our greatest witness.

One Smile At A Time: How $300,000 Creates $7.5 Million in Dental Care.

What if every appointment, every patient served, every investment you made in your practice could ripple out and change the world? At SupportDDS, that’s exactly what’s happening. Because when you partner with us—not only do you gain the best dental remote teams that drive efficiency, lower costs, and fuel growth—you also become part of a purpose that’s bigger than business. And that purpose is smiles. Real, life-changing smiles. At Dykema 2025, we stood alongside the Smiles for Everyone Foundation (SFEF), led by Steve Bilt, whose mission is simple yet profound: everyone deserves a healthy smile. And here’s the extraordinary truth: for every $1 donated, SFEF delivers $25 worth of dental care to people who would otherwise never have it. Through our #The51 initiative—where we give 51% of our proceeds to transforming lives—we made a bold commitment to join forces with SFEF. The result? Something extraordinary:  ✅ $300,000 invested ✅ $7.5 million in delivered dental care ✅ Four new Dental Outposts launched in Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Costa Rica These outposts are more than clinics. They are lifelines. In places where families suffer silently with no access to dental care, these outposts mean relief from chronic pain, dignity restored, and hope for a future without suffering. But here’s what makes this different: you made this possible. Every dental client who chooses SupportDDS isn’t just gaining world-class remote talent—they are fueling a global movement. It’s a win for you (efficiency + growth). It’s a win for our team (careers with purpose). And it’s a win for the world (lives transformed through care). Yet, we are not stopping here. Four outposts are just the beginning. $7.5 million in care is just a milestone. The need is vast, and the opportunity for good is even greater. “This isn’t just about teeth. It’s about dignity, it’s about hope, it’s about changing lives—one smile at a time.” – Testimony from a grateful patient Now, we invite you to be part of what’s next. Whether you’re a DSO, private practice, or dental industry leader, you can rally your team around a cause that stretches far beyond the operatory. 👉 Connect with Steve Bilt or Norm Schulz to explore how you can get involved. Every dollar multiplies impact—turning into hope, healing, and healthy smiles. This is more than a donation. This is a movement of smiles. A child’s laughter. A parent’s relief. Hope across continents. Let’s not just be amazing. Let’s BEE 🐝 amazing—together.

ZimWorX Stands in Solidarity for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Childhood cancer remains a global issue, yet many are unaware of its early signs. In Zimbabwe, misinformation, superstition, and stigma contribute to delayed diagnoses, resulting in alarmingly low survival rates. Early detection is crucial, but too often, by the time a child is diagnosed, treatment options are limited. This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, ZimWorX is committed to supporting families battling pediatric cancer. Through #The51, we proudly contributed US$25,000 to sponsor a Room of Love at KidzCan Zimbabwe’s Rainbow Children’s Village, a healing space for children undergoing cancer treatment. Recently, our Wellness Associates and Global Sales Director Chris Pruitt visited the site to see firsthand the progress of the room, which has become a symbol of comfort, hope, and resilience for families in need. Our goal extends beyond providing a healing space, it’s about empowering families with knowledge to recognize the signs of childhood cancer early. Symptoms like unexplained weight loss, persistent fever, unusual lumps, and changes in vision should not be ignored. Early intervention can save lives, and we encourage everyone to learn these critical signs. At ZimWorX, we are proud to support KidzCan Zimbabwe and continue to foster wellness and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer. For The Children Fighting Cancer, Hope Starts Here You have the power to save lives. By supporting critical initiatives, you can change the future for children battling cancer in Zimbabwe. For many families, getting consistent cancer treatment is simply out of reach. Long, expensive trips to central hospitals are unaffordable—especially for those from rural and disadvantaged communities. As a result, too many children don’t complete their treatment—not due to a lack of hope, but because of barriers we can break. At ZimWorX, we’ve already taken a stand. Through our #The51 Initiative, we proudly contributed US$25,000 to sponsor a “Room of Love” for KidzCan Zimbabwe’s Rainbow Children’s Village. This room will provide more than just shelter, it will offer a peaceful, supportive environment where children can rest, recover, and receive the care they need, while easing the financial and emotional burden on their families. It’s a space where healing begins, not just medically, but emotionally, too. But this is just the beginning. Imagine what we could achieve with more partners like you. Together, we can drive real, measurable change. The Room of Love is part of Phase 3 of the Rainbow Children’s Village expansion, which will add 9 new accommodation rooms, a playroom, a bathroom block, and a storage room. ZimWorX will even help design the room, ensuring it reflects the collective commitment of businesses and individuals who care. Every year, childhood cancer claims over 250,000 young lives globally. In Zimbabwe, the survival rate for children with cancer and blood disorders is just 20 percent, a heartbreaking reality, but one we can change. KidzCan Zimbabwe is working tirelessly to raise that rate to 60 percent by 2030, and your support can make it possible. “To improve survival rates, raising community awareness about childhood cancer symptoms and the importance of early diagnosis is crucial.” -  Daniel McKenzie, KidzCan Director. Fighting childhood cancer requires significant resources, over US$300 million annually. At ZimWorX, we believe in business with purpose. Through #The51 Initiative, we direct 51 cents of every dollar earned to causes like these. By partnering with ZimWorX, you're not just gaining a trusted partner; you're joining a movement to save lives. Every dollar invested brings us closer to providing life-saving care for children who need it most. This is your chance to be part of something bigger than any single transaction. It’s an opportunity to save lives, to impact families struggling with the heartache of childhood cancer. It’s your chance to be a catalyst for hope, to turn a crisis into a story of survival and healing. Let’s work together. Let’s build hope. Let’s  🐝 amazing together.

Small Grants, Big Impact: Goodworx in Action

As part of ZimWorX’s commitment to transforming lives and making a global impact for the Kingdom, the Workplace Wellness & Philanthropy Department launched the Goodworx Grant Competition in April 2025. The goal of the initiative is to empower ZimWorX team members to design and lead short-term, low-cost, high-impact projects that uplift vulnerable communities; and we’re thrilled to share that the first wave of projects is now underway. This September, two projects kick off in Zimbabwe. 1. GreenTheGhetto Movement will plant 100 fruit trees in five schools in Hatcliff, benefiting 450 students through nutrition, environmental education, and the creation of student-led Green Clubs while 2. Early Foundations: Textbooks for Success will provide much-needed textbooks to 48 learners in Sunningdale, ensuring that both current and future students have access to essential learning resources. But that’s just the beginning.  Three more impactful projects are scheduled to launch in the coming months, two in Lusaka, Zambia and one more in Harare, Zimbabwe. 1. Breakthrough Bootcamp (CampThrive) will work with 20 young boys in Zambia to address drug and substance abuse through outdoor leadership camps, mentorship, and structured programs that build self-worth, resilience, and positive identity. 2. Healthy Mothers, Healthy Future, another Lusaka project, aims to support 20 vulnerable pregnant women by providing antenatal education, mental health awareness, and compassionate care. This 3-month program includes sessions on nutrition, maternal self-care, postpartum mental health, and the distribution of maternity kits, culminating in a celebration and the formation of a supportive "Mothers' Circle" peer group. 3. Project Uplinked: Digital Access and Mentorship for Community Empowerment, launching in Harare, will connect 433 high school students to training, mentorship, and online opportunities. This four-month initiative focuses on building digital literacy and empowering youth with skills for the future. Each of these initiatives reflects what happens when ZimWorX team members put their faith, skills, and compassion into action. We’re proud of what’s unfolding, and even more excited for what’s ahead. Together, we are turning purpose into progress.

Rainbow Children’s Village Third Phase Nears Completion

The 9 roomed third block of living quarters at the KidzCan Zimbabwe Rainbow Children’s Village is nearing completion, and at its heart will be the Room of Love, a safe, supportive space for children undergoing cancer treatment and their families. Through its philanthropic arm, #The51 Initiative, ZimWorX contributed USD 25,000 to this vital project, underscoring our commitment to the health and dignity of Zimbabwe’s most vulnerable. With childhood cancer survival rates in Zimbabwe currently at just 30–40 percent, this space is more than shelter,  it is a stepping stone to hope, healing, and better outcomes.   Yesterday, during a formal handover event, Dr. Lionel Young, ZimWorX Vice President of Workplace Wellness and Philanthropy, officially presented the USD 25,000 cheque to KidzCan. He also toured the site, where he was informed by KidzCan Director Daniel Mackenzie that construction is progressing ahead of schedule, with keys handover set for December 20, 2025. For ZimWorX clients and partners, this project is a reminder that working with us is about more than business; it is about creating real impact. Together, we’re not just building rooms, we are helping raise survival rates and transform lives, one child at a time.

Hopping Toward Sustainability: Bunny Estates and ZimWorX Breeding Change

At Bunny Estates, nestled within the Gwebi Agricultural College ecosystem, something remarkable is unfolding, a story of resilience, innovation, and eco-conscious ambition. What was once idle land has been transformed into a thriving rabbitry project, built from the ground up through the bold vision of ZimWorX’s #The51 Initiative. Today, with 59 does and 7 bucks, the team is carefully interbreeding California and New Zealand White rabbits to produce fast-growing, high-yield stock with a 60/40 meat-to-bone ratio.                  The road hasn’t been smooth.  What began with a devastating 60% kit mortality rate has now seen a dramatic turnaround to just 4%, thanks to improved handling techniques and the pivot away from organic-only treatments to more effective, science-backed solutions. The project is also entirely off-grid, powered by solar energy that runs everything from the electric fence and borehole pump to the office and lighting. It's not just sustainable; it's self-reliant.   Bunny Estates is also redefining what it means to farm with intention. Through experimenting with rabbit urine as an eco-friendly insect repellent and foliar fertilizer,  they’re redefining what it means to farm with intention. Today, they collect up to 80 liters of rabbit urine per week, a resource that holds both economic and environmental value, and are actively refining a filtration process to unlock its full market potential.   But the vision goes beyond meat, fertilizer and manure. The team is exploring feed independence, value-added rabbit products, and farmer training to help others including pensioners, youths and women to replicate this model. It’s a farm, yes,  but it’s also a platform for empowerment, innovation, and resilience.   At ZimWorX, we believe sustainability should spread, multiplying impact one small, smart change at a time. Bunny Estates is living proof.

From Chaplaincy to Community: Building Dignity and Resilience in Zimbabwe's Police Camps

Three years ago, ZimWorX, through its flagship #The51 Initiative, partnered with the Zimbabwe Republic Police Chaplain General's Office to launch a bold experiment in compassion and self-sufficiency. At the heart of the effort was a simple but powerful idea: create a self-sustaining ecosystem that could support the widows, orphans, and vulnerable families of fallen police officers. The Chaplaincy identified Highfield Police Camp in Harare as the launch site. With a strong mix of spiritual guidance, practical innovation, and community ownership, this partnership has planted seeds of economic resilience, wellness, and hope- growing something that looks a lot like lasting change. Why This Matters: Empowerment that Endures Many aid efforts stop at the act of giving. #The51 believes in going further-in building platforms that empower communities to support themselves long after the ribbon-cutting ceremonies fade. This was the case at Highfield, where early donations, such as ICT tools and training, were soon followed by the establishment of a diesel-powered grinding mill, a two-room mill house, and a barbershop/salon. Together, these served as the foundation of a community-based model of wellness and enterprise. The larger vision? To allow the police camp to process maize grown on its own land, grind and package it into mealie-meal (a staple food), and sell or distribute it, generating income while feeding its most vulnerable. The Impact: Real People, Real Progress Recently, ZimWorX's Workplace Wellness Associates returned to Highfield to assess progress. What they found was more than a project-it was a movement of resilience. Grinding Mill: A Hub of Purpose Still fully operational, the grinding mill is run by a dedicated resident officer and now serves over 1,000 families - both inside the police camp and in surrounding communities. It brings in $17-$20 a day, which directly supports chaplaincy and welfare programs. Plans are already in motion to replace the diesel system with an electric mill, cutting fuel costs and improving efficiency-thanks to free access to electricity. While recent droughts have impacted maize production, the community is now exploring climate-smart agriculture and food security strategies.   Tuckshops: From Setback to Opportunity                     The original salon/barbershop faced early setbacks - structural issues and low participation left it idle. But instead of walking away, the team adapted. The space was converted into a rented tuckshop, providing a modest but steady income. Some items at the main tuck shop are being sold at the grinding mill, which was launched with just $262 in startup capital. Now approaching its second year of operation, this shop is fully managed by police staff and supports ongoing administrative costs, demonstrating clear potential for scale.   More Than a Project-A Testament to Human Spirit This is not a story of perfection, it's a story of perseverance. In the face of economic uncertainty, climate disruptions, and limited resources, the Highfield Police Camp team has shown remarkable creativity and ownership. They've repurposed assets, rethought strategies, and never lost sight of the project's core mission: to uphold dignity, build resilience, and ensure no one is left behind. What we witnessed reaffirms one of #The51's deepest values: Empowerment is not a one-time act. It's a journey-walked together, sustained by belief, and strengthened through partnership.   Join the Journey This work is only possible because of people and partners who believe in long- term, locally grounded solutions. If you're looking to support community-led development that's smart, sustainable, and deeply human - this is the kind of work that delivers impact you can see and stories you'll never forget. Let's keep growing purpose together.

Back to Books and Big Dreams: Rugare Reading Program Recommences

The third and final term is here,  and so is #The51 in Action, back to feed young minds at Rugare Orphanage. After a short holiday break, the Literacy Improvement Program is back in full swing, kicking off officially on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. During a heartwarming visit, the Workplace Wellness team and ZimWorX Global Sales Director, Chris Pruitt, toured the classroom block built by ZimWorX and saw firsthand the impact of the reading program. But it was the sound of children singing during choir practice that truly stole the show ,  a joyful reminder of why we do what we do. Here’s to a fresh term, new chapters, and every child getting the chance to dream, learn, and shine, no matter where they come from.

Big Hearts, Bold Hope: When Love Becomes a Legacy

Tucked away in Warren Park, a modest suburb where challenges are many and resources are few, three remarkable sisters rise each day with one goal: to give children a fighting chance at a better life. In the modest 3-bedroom home they call Nyararai Children’s Trust (NCT), they’re raising 16 children aged 2 to 19, adding to the more than 150 lives NCT has nurtured since it was founded in 2000 by their late mother, Gogo Clara Gunduza. What began as one woman’s vision has become a haven, a place where love is fierce, meals are shared, and no child is ever left behind. But love alone doesn’t keep the lights on or food on the table. When the sisters reached out for support, ZimWorX saw more than just a need, we saw a legacy worth preserving. Through our #The51Initiative, we responded not with a one-time handout, but with a plan rooted in sustainability. We helped construct a fowl run to launch a small-scale egg project. It’s not yet a booming business, but on a good day, a few eggs make their way from coop to kitchen, nourishing growing minds and bodies. The surplus? It heads to the community, offering a modest stream of income and a strong sense of purpose. And it all starts with a heart big enough to say: we will not give up on these children.

Nyararai Safe House Christmas Celebrations

"Do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." – Hebrews 13:16 Last year, Nyararai Safe House, one of our adopted homes, had a wonderful Christmas celebration. Our team organized a special party where every child received gifts and enjoyed a festive day filled with love and happiness. Thank you to our team members and everyone who helped make this day special for the children. Here’s to spreading more kindness and joy!

The51 In Action Costa Rica

"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." – Galatians 6:2🙏✨ In response to the challenges brought by the extended rainy season and the tropical storm causing severe flooding in Costa Rica, our team members stepped up to support those affected. The team visited a shelter in Carrillo to deliver essential items, including clothes, shoes, and food, to help families who have been displaced by the floods. Their generosity and commitment to serving the community are a testament to the power of solidarity in difficult times.

Tirivanhu Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Center

Our team recently visited the Tirivanhu Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Center in Ruwa, showing our commitment to community care through a heartfelt donation of food and shared activities. The visit aimed to uplift and connect with the centre's clients—individuals rebuilding their lives after facing mental health and addiction challenges. Engaging in fun games (with a memorable volleyball win!) brought smiles and strengthened bonds, marking the start of what we hope will be an ongoing partnership.

Emerald Hill Children’s Home.

#the51inaction Last week, our team visited Emerald Hill to assist in harvesting tomatoes at Emerald Hill Chrildren’s home. This Green house project at the children’s home continues to provide essential nourishment while empowering the home to sell surplus produce to nearby communities, fostering sustainability.
