Sweet Impact: How Zee Honey Is Turning Purpose Into Something Real

Zee Honey is changing what “giving back” actually looks like. Built through a partnership between Westprop Holdings and ZimWorX, this isn’t a once-off initiative but an impact designed to last. With 10% of Westprop’s profits and 51% from ZimWorX funding the project, purpose is built directly into the business. The goal is ambitious,  10,000 thriving beehives by 2035, alongside real, measurable community impact.

Based at Gwebi Agricultural College in Mashonaland West, Zee Honey is more than honey production. It is a connected ecosystem of beekeeping, fish farming, herbal gardens, and spirulina, all working together to improve productivity, strengthen food security, and create a sustainable model that holds up over time. And it’s already working.

Over 150 students have been trained, with jobs created and more than 50 people earning through subcontracted work, giving young people, women, and vulnerable groups practical skills they can turn into income.  Beyond that, the project supports local schools, creates university attachment opportunities, and contributes to broader goals like health, education, and climate action.

What makes Zee Honey unique is that it’s built to last, a system where business growth and community impact move together, consistently and sustainably.

The next step is to scale: more hives, more training, more reach. But the bigger goal is to show what’s possible when impact is structured, intentional, and embedded into how a business operates. Because when impact is designed to last, it doesn’t just support communities, it grows them.
